“Painting magical places is always a treat.”

The idea was to introduce the main characters and their home place in Rovio’s soon to be released game Stella and Friends.

Angry Birds Stella is an extension of the classic Angry Birds brand, bringing with it a similar tone of voice that’s playful and full of charm and character. We had the pleasure of creating a mystical image that introduced the game for the first time to a bigger audience.

Illustrator Jonna describes the brief and project: “Painting magical places is always a treat. That’s what I’m really into. It was interesting to see the early concept art from the talented Rovio artists and get inspired from those. Stella and her friends are cool characters with fierce personalities, plenty of attitude and a shared love for fun and adventure. It was easy to relate to that and create something that caught the audience’s attention.”
